Diplomatic Genius in the making

I think she is going to grow up and be a great diplomat. To elaborate my statement, we were in Chennai to attend Lakshmi (my cousin) 's wedding and after that we had been to tirupathi. In tirupathi she asked for a very fancy pen, which had multiple features attached like a stamp, bubbles, light, etc. And she showed it to my dad on our return.

As he is fond of stationery, he enquired with her "For whom did you buy this pen?" with an un said question of "is it for me?". All us looked eagerly at her to see how she would respond, would she say no it is for me or its for you or would she throw a tantrum...

Her response surprised all of us and convinced me that she has a career in diplomacy. She said to him, "you can use it for some time"!!!

Imagine a 4 year old with the presence of mind and manner she handled the situation, I was indeed very proud of her.

How does she get these intutions?

Anu, my darling girl is in Chennai (my mom's place) for the half yearly holidays. Meanwhile Sathya (my darling husband) met with a minor accident on the 30th (day before yesterday).

My mom realising how sensitive she is, narrated the incident to my aunt as if it was someone else. Anu who was with them got curious and enquired who met with an accident. And they waded it off, by saying it was some other uncle she does'nt know.

You would'nt believe after my mom went to bed that night, she picked the phone and started dialing random numbers to speak to me. Arthi dialed her my number and I spoke to her on new year' s eve for more than 10 min (which is very unlike her). I did not know the background of the mom & aunt's conversation that she suspected. And it was her way of ensuring if we were alright.

Oh my sweetie, how could you be so intutive and caring? Sometimes I wonder if I am your mother or you are mine...
